Welcome to Module 0: Augmenting Classroom Teaching with Everyday Technology!
Dear [First Name]
This module is designed especially for teachers who are just starting their digital teaching journey. You’ll explore how to use everyday tools—like mobile phones, tablets, and laptops—to enrich your lessons and connect better with your students. Whether you're in a remote community or teaching in an urban setting, these tools can help you engage learners in meaningful ways.
Module 0 runs from 9–14 June
If you’ve just completed your personal learning environment setup, you’re all set to begin. You can find the full Module 0 content on the course homepage under Module 0.
What to do in this module:
- Read through the core sections of Module 0
- Complete the “Try it yourself” activities and lesson plan challenge
- Participate in the discussion forum: Share which technology (mobile, tablet, etc.) you're most likely to use and how
- Take the self-assessment quiz
- If you are only doing Module 0 (and not continuing with the rest of the course), you should complete the course Exit Survey immediately after finishing Module 0. If you intend to continue with Modules 1 to 4, you will be invited to complete the survey at the end of Module 4.
Reminder for Pathway B learners (Module 1 starters):
If you plan to begin with Module 1, no problem — you’ll receive a separate email with your Module 1 instructions on 14 June. In the meantime, feel free to explore Module 0 if you'd like a refresher!
This module earns you the "
Everyday Technology Champion" badge. If you only complete Module 0, you’ll also receive a
Certificate of Achievement. If you continue through Modules 1–4, you’ll work toward a
Certificate of Completion for the full course.
