Dear [First Name]

We’re very excited to have you join our learning community for an OERu open online course.

At the OERu, “open” means that learners should be able to access all the course learning materials without the need to register an account, but there are good reasons to have one.

In this email, we explain what it means to “register”, “log in”, or “enroll” on the OERu course site.
  • Register is for first-time visitors to course.oeru.org site to create a new account and set a password.
  • Log in is for existing account holders on a course site to post comments or update details on the site.
  • Enrol is for existing account holders who would like to enrol on a new OERu course with their existing account credentials.
Registering on an OERu course site provides:
  • the ability to post course comments using WEnotes on the respective course site, and
  • an “opt-in” mechanism to receive course announcements and instructions via email.
Note that all OERu courses are hosted on one domain and you only need to register one account on your first visit to the course.oeru.org site.

If you are a first time visitor to the course.oeru.org site, you can register an account and set a password.

If you already have an account on course.oeru.org, just visit the respective course site, fill out your username and password and click on the “Login” button - this will automatically enrol you for the respective course if you’re not already enrolled for the course.  We provide more details on the registration process below.

In summary:

New account on course.oeru.org
Use the “Register” button on the form and  fill out details for a new account.
Existing account on course.oeru.org
Use the “Log in” button on the form with your existing username and password to enrol on the course site, or to post comments.

If for any reason you experience difficulties in registering on a course site, or you are not receiving the course instructions via email, please note that we publish copies of all course announcements on the respective course site under the “Interactions” menu option.

We look forward to seeing you online!

With kind regards,
The OERu team
